Cooper was 19 lbs. 2 oz., and 29 inches at his 9 month check-up. He has slowed down significantly in his weight gain. He is long and lean. He loves to stand and pulls up on everything. Cooper experienced stranger anxiety quite early, and we are excited that most of that has gone as he is now willing to smile and jabber for people. He has been signing the word milk since 3 1/2 months and has just begun to sign eat occasionally. He has said "bye bye" several times and will say "ba" in order to get me to blow bubbles for him. His favorite word/sound is "dada", and he says this all of the time. He has two teeth on the bottom and the top two are just about to break through. I can't wait for them to come in, because he has been very irritable the past week. He has begun biting me-I think to relieve the pain! He definitely responds to "no, no" when we tell him not to touch certain things. However, he will look over his shoulder to make sure we are not looking and slowly creep towards things looking back occasionally to see if we are watching. He is pretty sneaky. Cooper enjoys being read to and, his favorite book is Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo or Brown Bear, Brown Bear. I read to him in English and Spanish and tell him the Spanish word for most things we label. He thinks it is hilarious when I count in Spanish. His favorite things are our cell phones and the remote controls. He would rather play with those than any of his other toys. Cooper loves to laugh and imitates us when we laugh. He is a great sleeper at night, usually sleeping 11-12 hours. He doens't nap as well but will take 2 to 3 short naps during the day. We are having a blast with him and love watching him grow and learn new things!
