Almost One!-Potty Time

This picture was taken about a month ago when Cooper was going potty on the "big potty." And don't worry we usually don't give him suckers. We just happend to have a few at the house, and we decided to let him hold one. He wasn't really interested in eating it, he just likes to hold things.

11 1/2 months old

This picture was taken when Cooper was 11 months old. He now prefers to use his little potty since he wants to be more independent.

This is Cooper clapping for himself after he pooped in his little potty.

I cannot believe that Cooper is almost one! His birthday is this Thursday. Cooper has had ear infections off and on for the past two months now. He had tubes put in this past Tuesday and seems to be feeling a little better. He has added another word to his vocabulary "nana" for banana-his favorite food. His favorite things are dogs and hats. He is still not walking but will occasionally take several steps and then return to crawling.

About a month ago, Cooper became very interested in the potty and began going pee pee and poo poo in the potty. We bought a seat that goes over the toilet. Since he thinks he is grown up and does not want our help we eventually had to purchase a small potty to sit next to our toilet so that he could really feel like he was doing it all by himself. We admit that it is odd seeing a child crawl to the bathroom but we are just following his lead. He is proud of himself when he goes potty and claps and smiles. Although I am sure it will be some time before he is completely trained, I think we are off to a good start. He usually goes atleast 7 or 8 times a day. He will occasionally sign potty or point to the bathroom. Other times we just take him and let him sit and he goes. He has also gone while we are out and at other peoples homes. We have defintely cut down on the number of diapers that we are using which is great!
