16 Months-June 5, 2009

Cooper turned 16 months old on June 5th.

Cooper has tons of words and signs. He tries to repeat every word that we ask him to say. Sometimes the words come out pretty clear and other times they don't. He has close to thirty words that we can understand. He is daily adding new words to his spoken vocabulary. He loves to sign as well. He enjoys doing flash cards with me, and can identify numerous animals and objects. We visited Aldridge Gardens and Star Lake. This picture was taken at Star Lake.

He loves to identify objects belonging to certain people. He points to white trucks and says "Dadda!" He brings us shirts, shoes, hats and other objects and will tell us "Dadda" or "Momma" depending on who they belong to. He can identify his eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, tongue, ears, head, hair, cheek, arms, hands, fingers, legs, toes, feet, and belly. He can also identify these on other people and animals. He is able to nod his head yes and shake his head no. However, he says no much more than yes. He began to throw balls about one month ago-usually underhand. We are working on catching now.

Cooper has a great sense of humor and loves to make people laugh. When you ask him to show you his happy face, he will put his fingers on his cheeks and smile really big. When you ask him to show you his sad face, he will make a sad face. He loves to give kisses and puckers his lips and makes a kissing sound when he kisses us. He also enjoys blowing kisses when we tell him we are about to leave somewhere. He grabs the phone and kisses it while I am talking to people (making a kissing sound).

Cooper weighed 28 lbs last time we went to the doctor and was 31 inches long.
