I would like to ask all of you for your thoughts and prayers. My Granny (Mom's mother) had a brain aneurysm on December 27th. We spend Christmas with her and my mom's entire family each year. We had a great time at Christmas. Walker, Cooper, and I left the day after Christmas for Georgia to visit Walker's family. Granny was taken to a hospital in Gadsden on the 27th and transported to UAB NICU that evening. We came back from Georgia early, and I have been visiting Granny once or twice a day. She had surgery on the 28th which was successful. However, she has a blood clot on her brain that cannot be removed at this time. The doctors have told us that she will probably never recover. She developed pneumonia yesterday and is being treated with antibiotics. She has responded to commands at times to move her toes and fingers on the right side.
My Granny cares for my Aunt Lorie who has special needs. We are very thankful that Lorie was able to get help for my grandmother by walking to an American Family Care doctor to tell them something was wrong with her mother. My Aunt Becky is taking care of Lorie right now. All of our family lives within an hour or less of the hospital, so everyone has been able to visit often. My Mom and two of her sisters have been taking turns staying at the hospital during the day and night. We are praying that God will perform a miracle and restore her to health. We know that He can if it is His will to do so. Our family is beginning to address the issue of where my Aunt Lorie will live in the coming weeks and months. Please pray for wisdom as we make this decision.
